"I called Mike and told him that lightning had fried our network hubs and routers, computer components, phone system and several phone sets," Carnovale said. "Mike jumped into rescue mode. The next thing I knew Teoma had set up a temporary phone system that was acceptable for a few days. We had only one day of phone system downtime."
"Obviously we wanted to get them back to normal as quickly as possible, but we believe it's important not to rush to any conclusions," Quarton said. "If you're going to have to replace your phone system, look at it as an opportunity to add needed functionality and create a platform that will support your business into the future."
"They were here late every night working on the implementation, then here early each morning to train us. They got us up and running very quickly and professionally," Carnovale said.
"We were very fortunate," Carnovale said. "I'm not sure which components were cooked, but somehow we didn't lose any data. Teoma was able to restore everything for us."
"We now understand that we need a better surge protection for the building, and we're researching that right now," Carnovale said. "We're also much more concerned about backing up our network. We were doing that weekly - now we're doing it every other day."
"We cannot stress enough the importance of power protection and a solid backup plan," Quarton said. "It's also import to test backup and recovery processes frequently to ensure that they're working properly."
"Our former IT provider was a small company that had gone out of business a year or so ago. We were just kind of limping along on our own," Carnovale said. "Now we can rely on Teoma."
"I think you learn a lot about a company in a situation like this. We are very pleased and impressed with Teoma's response time and professionalism. Everyone who came here was extremely knowledgeable. They definitely rescued Carnovale Associates."
